Caroline Wozniacki suffers bad hair day at US Open during Aliaksandra Sasnovich win

Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki suffered a bad hair day at the US Open on Wednesday when her flowing blonde ponytail got trapped in the frame of her tennis racquet while facing Belarusian opponent Aliaksandra Sasnovich.

The incident occurred as Wozniacki chased down a shot from Sasnovich during her 6-3, 6-4 victory on the Grandstand court. As the Dane went into her backswing, her braided hair became tangled in the racquet, Sport24 reported.

Wozniacki said that it used to happen when she didn't braid her hair, and added that that is why she started braiding it. She said that once it gets to a certain length sometimes it can get stuck in the arm or the racquet, and added that it is a first when it's braided that it's been stuck that good in her racquet.

The 2009 finalist said that she still tried to hit the ball and it almost took her head off.
