Brendon McCullum's dad proud of how 'dasher' son 'went about innings' in second Test against India

The father of New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has hailed his son, saying that he is proud of the way the Test captain 'went about the innings' in the second Test against India, which was a draw.

McCullum became the first New Zealander to score triple century in Tests, passing former star Martin Crowe's record, and his heroics, along with BJ Watling and James Neesham, helped the hosts post their highest ever Test innings of 680/8.

According to Stuff.co.nz, admitting that he was unusually nervous on the morning of the fifth day, Stuart McCullum, also a former cricketer, said that he is proud of the way his son went about the innings.

Terming his son as a `dasher`, the senior McCullum also said that his son has changed in the way he treats the innings in front of him at the time, adding that he likes to stand up to a challenge and will continue to go about any situation like he has done in this match.
