The much-publicised executive committee meeting convened by Boxing India president Sandeep Jajodia did not bear any fruit as none of the 16 disgruntled members turned up for the meeting here on Thursday.
This meant that both Jajodia and secretary general Jay Kowli's position in BI is shaky.

As reported by dna on the eve of the meeting, 16 of the 20 EC members and 29 out of the 32 state federations decided to boycott the meeting called by Delhi-based industrialist and endorsed the 'No Confidence Motion' brought against Jajodia and his team during their unofficial gathering in Delhi on Wednesday.

Only Kerala state association secretary CB Raje and Daman & Diu president Amarjit Singh attended the meeting, which left Jajodia with no other option but to adjourn it citing "lack of quorum".

On Thursday, as Jajodia came for the meeting, he was stunned by the absence of any BI member. There were only two members sitting in the conference room. Jajodia left within minutes of arriving at the venue.
It was another story that two more state association officials walked inside the meeting room but left immediately after not finding Jajodia.

Jajodia returned later in the day only to have a brief chat with the waiting journalists. "I am not resigning from my post. I see no reason for me to give up my post. I was elected without any opposition. I am deferring the meeting as some members expressed their inability to attend it. We will reschedule the meeting as per their convenience. There are some fragmented people who are trying to bring the federation down. We are one solid team," Jajodia said.

The complete boycott of the EC meeting could be seen as a big victory for the IOA-backed rival group.

dna has reliably learnt that Jajodia also spoke to former Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) president, Abhay Singh Chautala, regarding the present crisis. But the Haryana heavyweight, it has been learnt, is in no mood to bail him out.
