Four people were arrested in Delhi after Hemlata Gupta, a coaching staff member of women's boxing champion Mary Kom, filed an FIR against employees of a city based restaurant for alleged assault.
Gupta, who went for a family dinner at Ambrai restaurant in Udaipur on Monday, had lost her mobile phone worth Rs 40,000. She was allegedly beaten up by staff post inquiry of her missing phone. Assistant sub inspector Ram Lal Gurjar has confirmed that four people, including the restaurant manager, were detained on Tuesday. Police are investigating the matter further.
The mobile phone was recovered from the restaurant compound on Monday night, confirmed police. Gupta is a native of Jhunjunu and stays in Delhi. The 30-year-old was accompanied by her father-in-law, mother-in-law and husband during the incident.
Her husband Anoop Gupta said the matter spiralled out of control post his threat to inform the police about the missing phone.
