The brother-sister combo of Baleno RS Booster Jets — pilot Sam Coleman (United Kingdom) and navigator Daisy Coleman (United Kingdom) — once again set the Arabian Sea on fire in the P1 Powerboat Indian Grand Prix of the Seas at the Marine Drive on Saturday.

The duo topped the two laps comfortably to emerge favourties ahead of Sunday's finale.

The siblings from UK had won Friday's qualifier race to take the pole position for the Saturday's race. The first lap started on expected lines and Sam-Daisy won the race 1 in 37:42:38 seconds, with the fastest lap coming in 02:26:04 seconds which earned them 20 points.

The event had two races of 15 laps each on Saturday. The grid position also reversed for the second race, with the boat finishing last in Race 1 taking pole position.

Sam and Daisy continued their momentum in the second race and comfortably outshone the other racers to top the second lap. The total domination duo saw Booster Jets finish at the top of the table with 59 points closely followed by Lloyd Dolphins with 57 points.

After the day's race, Sam said the main problem they faced was "adjusting to the heat", as they come from the United Kingdom. "I am happy with the lap timings. We have kept up consistently," said Coleman.

Meanwhile in the second race, Mirchi Mavericks — driven by John Donnelly (UK) and navigator Kevin Burdock — boat fell upside down towards the finishing of the second lap. The duo were fine though, said race officer Mick Pritchard.

Another boat, of HVR Racing manned by Americans Frank Silva and Tony Iannotta, developed engine failure midway through race 1 before finishing 11th.

The American duo was at the starting grid in race 2 before pulling out due to engine malfunction.

The finale for Sunday will consist of 20 laps and few would bet against Sam and Daisly losing. The duo have completely dominated the proceedings so far and would like to complete the hat-trick and win the P1 Powerboat hi-tech extravaganza.
