Big Three not about money or power: BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel

Though the boards of South Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have opposed the much-talked about Big Three draft, BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said they were not worried about individual boards as a majority of the ICC members have given their approval.

Patel said, “We’ve heard that Pakistan Cricket Board has declared something, but let me tell you that we are not worrying about individual members, as far as majority members have agreed. Our intention is to take into confidence all full members. We want to assure them we are not taking away anything what they are getting presently. It will be a better model in financial model as well as the governance issues.

“There were a lot of misconceptions about the position paper. It is said that we are playing a power game, but it is not true. It came after a lot of hard work and deliberations and we are hopeful that everything will be quite perfect. Unfortunately, nobody thought of it in the past,” added Patel.
