After being ruled out of the upcoming tour to Bangladesh due to shoulder injury, England's leading wicket-taker James Anderson is all set to miss next month's first Test of the five-match series against India as well.

Confirming the news, England skipper Alastair Cook said the 34-year-old pacer would not be ready for the first Test match against Virat Kohli's side, which starts from November 9 in Rajkot, Gujarat. "He might be ready to do some training, but he won't be ready for the first Test. A decision will be made on when he comes out over the next week or so," Cook was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

Cook said although Anderson looks in a good shape now, he is yet to start bowling. "I spoke to him last night and he is training well and in good shape physically. But he hasn't yet bowled and that has been the problem in the past. However physically well he's been in the rest of his body, it's when he starts bowling (that the problem occurs)," he added.

Anderson, who is still recovering from stress fracture, was earlier ruled out of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, starting from Thursday in Chittagong.
