Bowling coach Joe Dawes has moved on.

Sidelined ever since India were thumped in the five-match Test series in England, the Australian has told the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) he doesn't want to work at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore either.

Interestingly, the Queenslander has told The Courier Mail, an Australian newspaper, that the BCCI thought there was a "language barrier" between him and the players.

''But I had things in place to assist me with that. I have a very simple grasp of Hindi but cricket is also a universal language," Dawes, who took up the role in February 2012, told the Brisbane-based daily.

"I would use either the manager or one of the bowlers who spoke English to communicate. I would use Ishant Sharma all the time because he spoke good English. I would always make sure he was around to give me a hand.

At the end of the day they sent me for a rest while they had a think about which direction they wanted to head in. There has been a big push in India to get local Indian coaches in."

Apart from "resting" Dawes and fielding coach Trevor Penney, the BCCI brought in Ravi Shastri as director of cricket. It also appointed B Arun, R Sridhar and Sanjay Bangar to assist head coach Duncan Fletcher.

The 44-year-old Dawes, who is involved with IPL franchise Kings Punjab XI as well as Big Bash team Adelaide Strikers, says he will explore his options.

"At the moment I am just catching my breath and I am really enjoying being at home,'' Dawes said. "But there are two jobs I am really passionate about doing if and when they become available. One is the Queensland Bulls job, where Stuart Law is doing an awesome job at the moment. If he decides to move on down the track, I would love to have a crack at that. And of course I would love to be involved in the Australian team in a coaching position one day.''
