Bangladesh puts brakes on Nepal's progress in World T20 with 8-wicket win

Hosts Bangladesh has defeated newcomers Nepal by eight wickets in a clinical performance in their World Twenty20 clash in Chittagong on Tuesday.

Nepal's modest score of 126-5 in their 20 overs was built around a 35-ball 41 by captain Paras Khadka and a 43-ball 40 by Sharad Vesawkar who shared an 85-run stand for the fourth wicket.

According to Sport24, the hosts, who fielded after winning the toss, reached the modest target in 15.3 overs after opener Anamul Haque scored a 33-ball 42 with five boundaries and two sixes and shared an opening stand of 63 with Tamim Iqbal (30).

The report mentioned that Bangladesh has been put in a strong position to qualify for the Super-10 stage from Group A with their straight second win and they will now face newcomers Hong Kong in their last match while Nepal meets Afghanistan.

Afghanistan and Nepal have one win in two games while Hong Kong crashed out of the event with two defeats in as many games, with the report adding that the final will be played on April 6 in Dhaka.
