Barely a day ahead of the one-off cricket Test against India starting Wednesday, Bangladesh team manager Khaled Mahmud has resigned citing family reasons.

A leading Bagladeshi daily, 'Prothom Aalo' quoted sources in Bangladesh Cricket Board as saying that Mahmud has sent his resignation to BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury via email on Sunday.
BCB cricket operations committee chief Naimur Rahman declined to comment on the matter. He simply said that the issue would be discussed with Mahmud.

Mahmud, a former Bangladesh cricketer, was a medium pacer and middle-order batsman. He represented Bangladesh from 1998 to 2006, leading the team from 2003 to 2004. Mashrafe Mortaza and company face India on Wednesday in the one-off test match.
