Bangladesh aim to reduce 20-point deficit by beating Zimbabwe in upcoming Test series

Bangladesh would be aiming to reduce a 20-point deficit on Zimbabwe, as both teams look to gain vital ranking points, by winning the upcoming Test series, which starts on 25 October.

A 3-0 series win for Bangladesh would see them leapfrog their rivals and claim a 14-point advantage, while a 2-0 series win would result in a nine-point lead for the hosts. Moreover, a 2-1 victory would give skipper Mushfiqur Rahim's side a two-point advantage.

On the other hand, a 3-0 win for Zimbabwe would open up a 35-point lead on Bangladesh, whereas a 2-0 series result would increase the visitors' lead to 28 points. A one-nil win would ensure a 23-point lead for Zimbabwe over Bangladesh.

If the series ends in a 1-1 draw, Bangladesh would stay grounded and the deficit would come down to 10 points from 20.
