In the 20th Commonwealth Games beginning on July 23 in Glasgow, the Indian Badminton contingent has been ranked third in the mixed team event.

The ranking for the eleven day badminton tournament, starting on July 24, came after the country's silver medal finish at the 2010 edition in New Delhi. Meanwhile, defending their title and aiming for a hat trick, Malaysia maintain their top spot, with England being the second seed ans Singapore the fourth.

The mixed team event consists of a group stage followed by a knockout phase with each tie determined from best-of-five contests featuring matches in each of the five categories: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. The 23 participating teams are divided into six groups: five groups consisting of four teams each and one with three teams. The six group winners and two runners-up with the best records in the groups will progress to the knockouts.
