The Australian media has claimed that the country's proud cricketing history has been reduced to Ashes after losing seven of the last eight Tests, reversing the situation when the team looked at England team's with scorn, winning a series in 2006-07, 5-0.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, batting is Australia's biggest worry as this time they had lost their final eight wickets for 56 runs but the discovery of Chris Rogers was something positive.

However, former captain Allan Border said that there were more positives than negatives in the fourth Ashes Test even as others were not so optimistic.

Meanwhile, Australian captain Michael Clarke said that he had been part of a lot of records and a lot of them of late had not been great.

The Australian squad was derided as the country's worst ever Ashes touring party even before they left these shores, and their form since landing at Heathrow has done little to debunk the label, the report said.
