A 21-year-old woman who had filed a complaint against police officers for allegedly disrobing her and rubbing chilli powder on her private parts, has been thrown out of the private hostel she has been living in, reports an English daily.

Speaking to the paper, the woman said, "When I went to the hostel after I was released from police detention, the lady warden asked me to vacate my room without citing any reason. I was told that the owners of the hostel were not happy with police personnel coming to the premises. They felt that the hostel was getting a bad name and that people would not like to keep their daughters in a place which was being visited by the police."

The woman has moved out of the hostel located in the Cidco area, and has been staying at a city lodge with her mother and younger brother.

The woman who is an engineering diploma holder, was detained by the police on January 4 along with her two female friends. She was detained because a 17-year-old boy who was her friend had died after the three women had partied with him.

The woman said the boy got violent after consuming alcohol and was slapped by a youth in the group. According to the woman, the boy fell and hurt himself badly while fleeing from the group. He was taken to hospital but was declared brought dead.

After first calling it case of accidental death, the police changed their tone and decided it was murder. Police officers claimed the boy had been assaulted and that the incident had been captured on CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of the lodge where he died. The police also claimed the boy and his male friends had gone missing from the vicinity and were not to be found.

The woman and her two friends were detained in police custody for two days, during which she alleged that the three police personnel, including two women officers, stripped and assaulted them.
