Hours after the HI special committee recommended the removal of chief coach Paul Van Ass, assistant coach Jude Felix put in his papers citing "personal reasons".

"I have an ailing mother to take care of. Also, I run a hockey academy for poor kids in Bangalore which needs my attention. So, I am going back," he added.
However, a former HI official told dna that "Felix's decision to leave at this crucial juncture before the 2016 Rio Games is because of the current mess in hockey".
"Felix is a simple man and he is fed up with all the coaching mess going around in Indian hockey. Every time a coach changes, he brings his own style of functioning.
"Felix was finding it difficult to adjust to the working styles. He needed stability in the coaching department," reasoned the official who is close to Felix.
"In eight months, two foreign coaches take charge. Felix also did not want his name to figure in any kind of controversy," the official added.
Gurbaj faces action
Meanwhile, Indian midfielder Gurbaj Singh faces disciplinary action after the special committee found him guilty of "misbehaviour and creating divide within the team".
According to a report submitted by the coaching staff and the team manager who accompanied the side to the HWL Semifinals in Belgium, Gurbaj was found guilty of groupism and misbehaving with coaches.
The committee recommended disciplinary action against Gurbaj to HI president Narinder Batra.
However, Gurbaj refused to comment. "I don't know about any such report. Let them seek an explanation and then I will explain," he said.
