R Ashwin is one of the most prodigal offspinner of the current time. His arm balls and doosras often confound batsmen from across the world. He is also extremely cheeky and chirpy on Twitter often coming out with quick retorts to fans who try to troll him.

On Monday, Ashwin seemed to put a clever twist to the ongoing turbulent political situation in Tamil Nadu.

India's premier offspinner tweeted :

Now Tamil Nadu Assembly has 234 seats. So it wasn't exactly an unfair conjecture to make that Ashwin was alluding to the political situation in Tamil Nadu and indicating that there may be a snap election in the state sometime in the future. But with his followers mostly interpreting it in that way, Ashwin not unsurprisingly determined to go in the backfoot.

He claimed that his tweet was not political in nature!

He later tweeted about a career fair which the Ashwin foundation is supporting

On Sunday, Sasikala was unanimously elected as the leader of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (AIADMK) legislature party. O. Panneerselvam, the current incumbent of the post who proposed Sasikala?s name at the party's internal meeting yesterday afternoon, announced his resignation soon after. Sasikala is likely to take her oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on Thursday. She will now meet Governor Vidyasagar Rao to stake her claim to form the government. Following former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa's death on December 5, it was 61-year-old Sasikala who performed her last rites.

Do you think Ashwin's reference to the number 234 in the first tweet was merely a coincidence? Do let us know in the comments section.
