It's a well-documented fact that Indian cricket team's MVP Ravichandran Ashwin is an absolute team man. From making more-than-healthy contributions with both bat and ball, to guiding youngsters in the team like Jayant Yadav, Ash is the go-to man in Indian cricket.

However, what people didn't know was that Ashwin's wife, Prithi, is also one who plays for the team. Proof of that is the fact that she gave birth to a baby girl on December 21, a day after India completed their historic 4-0 Test series victory against England in Chennai, but chose not to speak about it and steal her husband's moment of glory.

Prithi made the revelation via a series of tweets on Monday, in which she spoke about how she chose to not make the news public for a few days as she didn't want the limelight to be taken away from Ashwin, who had just been honoured with the twin awards of ICC Cricketer and Test Cricketer of the Year.

Here's what Prithi wrote in her tweets on Monday:

"I delivered carrom baby #2 on the 21st. She waited out a State-wide shut down thanks to the cyclone AND 5 days of Test cricket at Chepauk."

"I thought my water would break when we won that game and I was going to have the baby at Chepauk. Now, THAT would have been some story."

"She arrived the next day. We Didn't want to steal Appas 'Cricketer of the Year' moment, so telling you guys now."

"#Pavilionterracebaby So yes, baby girl it is.Santa was kind at the end of a rough and emotionally draining 2016. Also RIP sleep in 2017."

Here are her tweets:

This wonderful gesture by Prithi says a lot about the healthy culture in their family. Here's wishing Mr. and Mrs. Ashwin the very best!
