Arsenal is reportedly worried over manager Arsene Wenger's refusal to commit himself to the 1,60,000 pounds-a-week contract agreed in principle last year for which they have put on hold plans to unveil his new contract.

Arsenal wanted to reveal the contract at Wenger's 1,000 th match this year, which would be take place at Chelsea on March 22 unless Arsenal draws next week's FA Cup tie, in which case it would be held at Goodison Park on March 18 or 19.

According to the Mirror, Wenger has however maintained that he would only sign a new deal if his team won honours again as it has been nine years since Arsenal last won a trophy.

However, Arsenal's chief executive Ivan Gazidis had said that Wenger would extend his contract with them and they would announce it at the right time.

Meanwhile there have been speculations that Britain's longest-serving manager could still quit after his current deal expires at the end of the season.
