In order to role out retrospective suspensions for diving, Arsenal football team manager Arsene Wenger wants an independent panel that has the power to do the same.

Diving has been prominent after a number of high-profile incidents involving Chelsea players. And Wenger feels that the panel should be made up of people with experience in the game to punish obvious cases.

Wenger said that he is against diving, but added that the only way players would stop doing it is if they can get punished, the BBC reported.

The Arsenal boss believes naming the guilty players alone doesn't work and there is a need to hand out bans following the examination of video evidence. He added that they should punish after the game.

The Frenchman said that the problem would be to decide when it was obvious diving or not, claiming that that is a big issue and sometimes it is not obvious.
