American golfer Jordan Spieth admits being 'far away' from number one world ranking

American golfer Jordan Spieth admitted he is 'very far away' from becoming the top-ranked player following his triumph at the Australian Open.

Spieth upstaged world number one and defending champion Rory Mcilroy, who could only manage to finish joint 15th at two-over 286.

Talented rising star Spieth, runner-up at US Masters last April, fired a final-round 63 to win his first tournament of the year, outshining the world number one and number three to claim a six-shot victory at The Australian Open.

Spieth said that it would take a 'lot more' to repeat the success in majors. He further added that he has to win a major or two in order to significantly progress to the goal of being world number one, stating that he is aiming at the Augusta Masters, which is scheduled to be held in April next year, Sport24 reported.

According to him, he is currently at peak of his career and hopes to climb some more peaks.
