Seeded Indians sailed into the second round of the Indonesia Masters Grand Prix Gold in Balikpapan on Wednesday. Third-seeded Ajay Jayaram led the Indian men's campaign in the singles event while all the three entries in the women's singles made first-round exits.

Jayaram defeated local shuttler Yehezkiel Fritz Mainaky 21-8 21-9 in just 20 minutes while seventh seed and 2014 winner HS Prannoy got the better of Korea's Young Woong 16-21 21-19 21-14 and 10th seed B Sai Praneeth beat Indonesia's Riyanto Subagja 21-18 13-21 21-13, both the three-game match lasting nearly an hour.

However, in women's singles, Ruthvika Shivani Gadde, Tanvi Lad and PC Thulasi lost in straight games.
