Former BCCI chief N Srinivasan was faced with mounting problems with the Mudgal panel finding that he, along with other BCCI officials, did not report the misdemenour of a player which they were aware of and with his estranged son Ashwin telling dna on Sunday that he has been kept in a house in Chennai against his will by his father.

The Justice Mukul Mudgal panel report also indirectly indicted Srinivasan for lying under oath, regarding the role of his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan and also for not taking action against a player, who, he knew, was involved in violating the Players Code of Conduct.

Ashwin told dna that he feared for his and his partner Avi Mukherjee's life. "Every knock on the door seems like our death is imminent. I want the world to know the truth. If I'm gone, it will never come out," he said.

Ashwin also said that if the Mudgal committee had summoned him they would have got more details.

Two years ago (May, 21, 2012), Ashwin had accused his father of homophobia and of using his clout to unleash a cycle of violence against him and his partner Avi Mukherjee in order to "cure" him of homosexuality. Despite being ticked off, he spoke up again last year when charges against his brother-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan first emerged.

Ashwin and Avi were then bundled off to Chennai where they are currently being housed in a flat owned by the Murugappa Group at the Tony Boat Club neighbourhood in Chennai.

"I want our freedom and our lives back and also the rightful share in the family wealth,"
he said.

Meanwhile, the Justice Mudgal panel findings confirmed that Meiyappan was involved in betting and passing on team information. This could mean that the position taken by Srinivasan and Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who referred to Meiyappan merely as a cricket enthusiast, have now been compromised.

"Due to the scientific matching and the testimony of security personnel recorded by the
investigating team, the finding about the betting activities of individual 1 (Meiyappan) and the finding that he was a team official stand confirmed," the report stated.

Now Srinivasan may not be able to save either his franchise or his son-in-law. The Mudgal panel has also indicted Rajasthan Royals owner Raj Kundra for betting and
having links with the bookies. In simple terms, both CSK and RR now stand on the verge of termination as per the BCCI/IPL Anti-Corruption Code.

Srinivasan's indefatigable quest for extending his tenure as BCCI president for one more year will again come under judicial scrutiny on November 24, when the persons named in the Mudgal report will present their defence.

The new finding in the report that it was not just Srinivasan, but four more Board officials also knew about an individual player's (individual 3 in report) wrongdoings, comes as a surprise.

"Can you imagine that BCCI president, along with four more officials, did not deem it fit or important enough to take any action, despite knowing about a player's wrongdoing? I really ask myself now whether we were watching cricket or some WWF style of wrestling?" former India player Surinder Khanna asked.
"Even these officials should be charged as per law, for protecting a rogue. How can they be allowed to become BCCI office-bearers again in their life?" added Khanna.

The names of the suspect players have deliberately been concealed in the report issued to the petitioner and lawyers of Srinivasan and others.
