Aditya Verma urges Narendra Modi to make BCCI corruption free

 Cricket Association of Bihar secretary Aditya Verma, who is the petitioner in the ongoing IPL spot-fixing case, on Monday wrote a letter to prime minister designate Narendra Modi, who is also president of Gujarat Cricket Association, to strengthen Indian cricket board and free it of conflict of interest.

In his letter, Verma prioritised the 'revival of cricket in Bihar' and explained how the Board of Control for Cricket in India derecognised CAB. He urged Modi to make an adhoc committee to revive cricket in Bihar.

"On behalf of thousands of cricketers from Bihar I request you to make an adhoc committee and revive cricket in Bihar. Perhaps you will be surprised to know that after bifurcation of the Bihar, the newly-created state of Jharkhand fraudulently snatched BCCI recognition from Bihar.

"For last 12 years, the young cricketers of Bihar have failed to participate in any level of cricket conducted by BCCI. Since 2004, CAB has tried several times to start cricket in Bihar but has been ignored by BCCI and failed to get recognition," he wrote.

Verma accused BCCI president in abeyance N Srinivasan for damaging board's reputation. "You are the president of Gujarat Cricket Association and also the next PM of our country. Everybody knows your work skill. You can make BCCI, and other sports organisations, free of corruption.

"Last one year Hon'ble Supreme Court and High Court in their order, questioned the functioning of BCCI due to conflict of interest by Mr Srinivasan, who has damaged the integrity of BCCI. If you will not care or interfere in the functioning of BCCI, nobody can save the institution, which was established in 1928," the letter added.
