Having been dumped by International Cricket Council's (ICC) board members in Dubai, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has called for a Special General Meeting (SGM) on May 7 to finalise the seemingly taken decision of "withdrawing from Champions Trophy".

Two of the three office bearers --- Amitabh Chaudhary and Aniruddh Chaudhary --- have apparently apprised the powerful members of the Board of how BCCI was humiliated, especially with the rude behaviour by Cricket Australia officials, during the ICC meeting.

But whether Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) are going to play ball with the eligible office-bearers is worrying everyone.

The biggest question mark is, however, about acting president CK Khanna. Having captured Delhi cricket for the last 36 years, Khanna is currently the representative of Central Zone after defeating Jyotiraditya Scindia for the vice-president's post in last BCCI elections.

"BCCI's acting president has done no role except for collecting complimentary passes for different IPL games during the last two meetings (SGMs) that he chaired," a BCCI insider said.

A former tailor by profession, Khanna has always been famous in Delhi cricketing circles as the "proxy king" who has ruled Ferozeshah Kotla premises by holding on to majority of votes through proxy papers.

So much so that he was apparently seen asking BCCI CEO Rahul Johri during the last SGM in Delhi about "increasing complimentary passes quota of Board president during the ongoing IPL games".

Khanna has always played it safe when it has come to signing any official documents. In fact, the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) also failed to find a single tender paper or bill signed by Khanna during its investigation three years back.

"I've not seen any sample of his signature during my two-decade long stay at DDCA," a close associate and former player said about Khanna.

DNA has learnt that Khanna has even not spared Delhi High Court-appointed administrator in Delhi, Justice (Retd) Vikramajit Sen, with a request for the same.

"Please leave it," Khanna shot back when asked for a response.

People who know Khanna closely can vouch that his modus operandi has always been to keep away from the limelight and get the work done through his appointed cronies. That's why his hand-picked choice of Delhi's junior selector as BCCI's media manager immediately after his elevation to the top job was rejected by COA.

"Whenever our president calls me, he only begs for extra passes," said a BCCI employee, adding: "Hope he will talk about SGM agenda of May 7 meeting when he calls me next."
