India's hero in the third and final T20 against England was leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who picked up a career-best 6 for 25 and triggered a stunning collapse in the visitors' batting. His exploits with the ball helped India clinch the three-match series 2-1 and complete a whitewash across all formats.

Although Chahal has been the toast of the nation ever since, not many know a lot about the Haryana lad.

1. Yuzvendra Singh Chahal was born on July 23, 1990, in Jind Haryana. His nickname is Popeye.

2. He is the only player to have represented India in cricket as well as chess. He was part of the India Under-16 chess team and his name is listed in World Chess Federation’s official site.

3. He made his First Class debut against Madhya Pradesh for Haryana in November, 2009.

4. His breakthrough performance came in the year 2009, when he picked up 34 wickets in the National Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy and ended the tournament as the leading wicket-taker.

5. He made his international debut in an ODI against Zimbabwe in June, 2016.

6. He was signed by the Indian Premier League (IPL) side Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2011, but got to play only one match for them across three seasons.

7. In the 2011 Champions League, however, he featured in all matches for MI and picked up 2 for 9 off 3 overs to guide his team to victory in the final against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Since 2014, he has been an RCB player.

8. His performance against England on Wednesday saw him becoming the first Indian to take a five-wicket haul in a T20 international. His figures of 6 for 25 were also the third best in international T20 cricket.
