A day before Sachin Tendulkar's 200th test match in Wankhede, three persons connected with prominent sporting clubs in Mumbai were arrested from outside Wankhede Stadium for allegedly selling a complimentary pass of the maestro's farewell match for Rs25,000 and a Rs1000 ticket for Rs8,000.

According to reports, the arrested persons have been identified as Janak Gandhi (52), member of Garware Club House, Girish Prem (34) and Ajay Jadhav (36), who work at Bombay Gymkhana and Islam Gymkhana respectively.

The police said that the accused have confessed to selling at least 30 passes as well as tickets in the black market.

Officers of the property cell of the Mumbai police crime branch had prior information that tickets for Tendulkar's 200th and final Test match on Thursday, against the West Indies, were being sold at exorbitant prices in the black market.

Investigation revealed that 5,000 of the 30,000 tickets at Wankhede Stadium were sold to the public and the rest were distributed among cricket clubs affiliated to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), which is also hosting the match.
