The Indian men's football team displayed yet another shambolic performance as they slumped to their fifth successive defeat, losing 0-3 to Oman in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Tuesday.

Ahmed Mubarak put the hosts ahead in the 55th minute before Abdulaziz Al-Muqbali consolidated the lead by scoring a brace.

Goalkeeper Gurpreet Sandhu was the only saving grace for India as the 23-year-old made a flurry of saves in an otherwise disappointing night for the visitors. India remained at the bottom of the Group D points table.

Oman had also won first-leg encounter in Bengaluru 2-1.
