Who won the inaugural Indian Grand Prix?

Red Bull's double world champion Sebastian Vettel won the inaugural Indian Formula One Grand Prix on October 30, 2011 for his 11th victory in 17 races this season. The 24-year-old German led every lap of the race after starting from pole position. He also set the fastest lap right at the finish.

Gambhir tied the knot with Delhi-girl Natasha Jain in a quiet ceremony which was attended by only close family members and friends. More than 300 guests were invited for the wedding, the most prominent among them being superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Tim Bresnan scored 45 runs against India in the final ODI. He recorded his highest innings against India, eclipsing the 28 at The Oval on September 9, 2011. Bresnan's aforesaid knock is his second highest in ODIs - the highest is 80 against Australia at Centurion in 2009.

Virat Kohli became the third player this year to aggregate 1,000 runs or more in ODIs, joining Jonathan Trott (1173) and Shane Watson. Kohli has completed 1,000 runs in a calendar year in ODIs for the first time, managing 1017 at an average of 44.21 in 26 matches, including three hundreds and six fifties.

Czech Petra Kvitova defeated Caroline Wozniacki 6-4, 6-2 in her final round-robin match at the WTA Championship. Wozniacki looked mentally and physically drained. Champion Kvitova marched into the semi-finals with a match to spare in the Red Group.
