Prepare to embrace the force of gravity.
The Red Bull Soapbox Race is perhaps the best kind of unusual that happened to Mumbai.
Unusual, since none of the hand-made cars (if you can call the machines that), had brakes. And going downhill at neck-break speed is exactly the kind of crazy the daredevil contestants undertook, at this event hosted by VJ Jose, Cyrus Broacha and Baba Sehgal.
Just in case you find it hard to believe, go right ahead and take a look at some of the photographs from the event.
1. Talk about hurling a shoe
You may not have seen a Yeti, but now, you have seen a man inside a show tumbling down the hill. (Photo courtesy - Ashmak Maity)
2. Radio City on the move
In a seemingly fragile hand-made car, these valiant drivers sped down the slope at neck-break speed. (Photo courtesy - Ashmak Maity)
3. Pokemania
Struck by the fad of Pokemon, these contestants made a successful corner in the car moulded to the shape of Blastoise, a water Pokemon. (Photo courtesy - Ashmak Maity)
4. Dance off
Not entirely political, but these folks dressed in white and tricolor scarves, had a hilarious signature dance to showcase right before going downhill. (Photo courtesy - Ashmak Maity)
5. Made in an Indian garage
And the team even had 'Make in India' painted on their car. (Photo courtesy - Ashmak Maity)
6. Chariot race
If you ever wondered how the chariots from Mahabharata or Ramayana looked or worked, you have these guys to thank for quite a show. (Photo courtesy - Ashmak Maity)
7. On a long distance call
This has to be the first time you see a telephone making a corner slope as this one. However, improbable it may seem, this soapbox got away without a crash. (Photo courtesy - Ashmak Maity)
