On March 16th 2012, Sachin Tendulkar achieved an unprecedented feat of a 100 hundreds in international cricket, when he scored a century against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, which would turn out to be his last ever century. Tendulkar is also the highest run getter in ODI cricket with a jawdropping 18,426 runs to his name.

In a career spanning 24 years, Sachin scalped 200 international wickets which included 154 ODI wickets and 46 Test wickets. Sachin is the only cricketer to score 15,000 runs and scalp 150 wickets in ODIs.

Sachin who is the current team icon for the Mumbai Indians, has been a stalwart for the Mumbai based franchise. Sachin may have a mediocre record in the IPL, but the master blaster helped the Mumbai Indians to their maiden IPL title in 2013, and two CLT20 trophies in 2011 and 2013.

After his retirement from Cricket, Sachin turned his attention to football. The Master Blaster co-owns the Kochi ISL team in the Indian Super League Football in association with PVP Ventures owned by Prasad V Potluri. The team has been named as Kerala Blasters and came to finals of the ISL 2014 losing out to Atletico de Kolkata in the final.

Off the field, Sachin is known for his generosity and humility, as he sponsors 200 underprivileged children every year through Apnalaya, a Mumbai-based NGO associated with his mother-in-law, Annabel Mehta.

Sachin has received numerous Man of the Match awards throughout his career, but the little Master has also been awarded various national awards such as, the Bharat Ratna in 2014, Padma Vibhushan award in 2008, Maharashtra Bhushan Award in 2001, Padma Shri in 1999, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 1998 and the Arjuna Award in 1994.
