Match Updates - Ashes: 5th Test, Day 3: Cook gone, England face innings defeat at stumps
Ashes 5th Test, Day 3

Outgoing captain Michael Clarke will hope his boys give him a proper send-off in the final Test in this series. Having already lost the Urn to the hosts, Australia now play for pride and honour. And they have done so in this 5th Test.

The visitors have totally dominated the two days with the bat and the ball as well. Steven Smith seeming to regain his lost form by smashing a brilliant 143 yesterday. Starc too got a half-century to extend their score to a mighty 481.

The bowlers too did a good job by eliminating more than half the side for a meagre 107-8. Mitchell Marsh claimed three wickets whereas Siddle and Lyon claimed two each.

England really need to get a grip in this game as they look to avoid a follow-on and a possible innings defeat. Moeen Ali and Mark Wood at the crease will look to resurrect England and give them an outside chance to win this final Test.
