Unfortunately Rohit Sharma's stellar 98 went in vain for Mumbai, thanks to the initial partnership between Gambhir-Pandey for Kolkata, which swung the game in the home teams' favour.
And it was Surya Kumar Yadav's late exploits with the bat later on which clinched a humdinger of a tie for Kolkata. Dominant performance by the defending champions tonight.

If Kolkata have a packed stadium (and probably Sharukh Khan!) rooting for them, then Mumbai cannot be discounted for thanks to the pep talk they recieved from none other than Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday.
Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma, are the Kolkata and Mumbai captains respectively, and it will be known as to whether the duo are good leaders or not.
Mumbai have a world class batting line-up which has the likes of Rohit, Aaron Finch, Ambati Rayudu,Keiron Pollard and Corey Anderson, whereas the bowling looks equally impressive with Lasith Malinga and Josh Hazlewood expected to spear-head the attack.
Kolkata on the other hand have Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Andre Russell, Umesh Yadav and Morne Morkel as their star players, and are expected to fight tooth and nail. Uthappa who was last season's Orange Cap winner may play a crucial part for Kolkata tonight.
While a typical IPL belter is expected for tonight's match, still do expect Kolkata to pull off a rabbit out of their hat, thanks to their spin bowling options.
