End of day's play as Australia scored 354/6 in 89.2 overs on Day 1. A quick burst of wickets put India in a controlling position after David Warner's knock. Clarke, Steven Smith and Mitchell Marsh also chipped in generously to dent the Indian bowling attack.

Just hours remain before the start of the India-Australia series. The first Test takes off in Adelaide a 5:30 am IST. Virat Kohli will be leading the Indian side in the absence of MS Dhoni. Michael Clarke is fit to play but the death of Phillip Hughes will cast a shadow over proceedings at least on Day 1.

For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is injured, so India have to replace him with Mohammad Shami, Varun Aaron or Umesh Yadav. Ishant Sharma is likely to make the starting XI by default.
