So as Day 3 ends, the Mirpur weather played spoilsport again with numerous rain interruptions.
Though Dhawan departed after a superb 173, Vijay made Bangladesh grind with his 150 and even Rahane looked rock-solid and was unlucky to be dismissed on 98.
Bangladesh's only positive was a quikc spurt of wickets when Shakib dismissed both Rohit and Virat and ended up with a four-wicket haul.
Cometh Day 4, it is still India in the drivers seat and it would be interesting to see as to how Bangladesh counterattack.
So come Day 4, it remains to be seen as to whether the game will teper out to a draw or will India go full throttle at Bangladesh.
Harbhajan (7*) and Ashwin (2*) walk off and India will hope that they get quick runs on the board come Day 4 and try and skittle out Bangladesh twice within two days.
Frequent rain interruptions have ensured that the test remains a watershed one.
And the umpires have decided that play be called off for the day.
It may be a surprise if this test sees Bangladesh getting to bat out one full day atleast on Day 4 or 5.
And it is raining (again!)...play gets delayed once more.

Harbhajan will look to steer India past 500 atleast.

The first one was a googly which baffled Saha and disturbed his middle-stump whereas Rahane perished after his aggresive pull went wrong which led to him losing his off-stump.
First Jubair castles Saha (6) with a peach whereas Shakib quite tragically denies Rahane (98) a well deserved century.

Vijay departs after a patient knock which took 272 deliveries and was studded with 12 fours and a six.
He tries to sweep Shakib and fails...the ball hits his thigh and a leg-before decision is give.

The covers have been drawn again and it remains to be seen as to whether Bangladesh do even have a chance to come in and bat come the next two days.
And rain has started pouring in as usual..what a spoilsport!

That was a good delivery from Shakib...fired onto Dhawan's feet and an easy catch off the edge.

Updates from Day 2 - Play was called off without a ball being called.
Hope Day 3 turns out to be one conducive to test match cricket...of course without the rains that is!

So as another watershed day in the Fatullah test peters off without a ball being bowled, Bangladesh can count themself lucky that they have a superb chance to escape off with a draw in the remaining three days' time.
And play has been called off...too bad the super soppers and groundstaff tried their best, but the pitch is not fit for a game of cricket as per inspections conducted.
The latest update is that the umpires will take a call at 2.30 pm IST...watershed day again!

And heavy rains have delayed start of play on Day 2.
Updates from Day 1 - India had finished the first day on a commanding 239 for 0 (56.0 ovr) thanks to a superb unbeaten 150 from Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay's 89*.
Bangladesh have a huge task at hand if they are to stop the Indian batting juggernaut and it will be interesting to see whether the home side can atleast show some spunk in their bowling on Day 2.
So it was all India from start to finish as the visitors powered by Dhawan and Vijay's clever batsmanship have ensured that they have given Bangladesh a mountain to climb come Day 2.
If Vijay was more workman like in his laboured 89*, Dhawan called the shots with a fine 150* which means the duo will have another go at Bangladesh's bowlers come Day 2.
As for Bangladesh, there was nothing to talk about with their bowling resembling a stick trying to break down the Indian fortress.

TOSS TIME - India have won the toss and Kohli has elected to bat first...great choice it seems regarding the so called 'lifeless' track which has been predicted to be panned out by curators.

Led by Virat Kohli, India will look to upstage Bangladesh in their own den and show who really is the boss in the test match arena.
Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha on the other hand has raised concerns about the nature of pitch and believes that it will not be a true sporting wicket.
Also skipper Mushfiqur Rahim is of the beilef that the game will be a 50-50 contest and is confiedent of his team giving India a good fight.
Thanks to the nature of the track, Bangladesh will in all probablity field two pacers and a spinner for the contest and it will be interesting to see as to how they can deal with the world class batting line-up led by Kohli.
So as it stands the game definitely looks for the taking for India who look poised to clinch it despite being in away territory.
