WWE Survivor Series Match Predictions: John Cena's team will put The Authority out of power

WWE Survivor Series Match Predictions: John Cena's team will put The Authority out of power

WWE Survivor Series 2014 emanates from St Louis, Missouri on Sunday, November 23.

While Survivor Series was once regarded as one among the WWE's big four Pay Per Views - Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Survivor Series and Royal Rumble - it has fallen off the radar in recent years and become just another monthly event.

This time however, WWE have tried to make the PPV look important again. The headliner this time is a Team Authority v/s Team Cena match, with five members on each side in an elimination match.

Five matches have so far been announced for the event, and more may just be added by the end of the week.

Here, we bring you some predictions for the WWE's November extravaganza the Survivor Series.

1) Dean Ambrose v/s Bray Wyatt: Since losing to Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell thanks to Bray Wyatt, Ambrose is back in the midcard. While the Ambrose-Bray feud started spectacularly with a hologram of the supposed 'Sister Abigail' at Hell in a Cell, WWE has booked this feud poorly since then. All Wyatt has been doing is delivering his customary cryptic promos, except last week on RAW when Ambrose ambushed Wyatt from behind.

Given that this feud has only just begun and WWE would not like to bury either man, except a double disqualification finish or a dirty win for Bray Wyatt, to continue the story.

2) Alicia Fox, Emma, Naomi and Natalya v/s Paige, Cameron, Layla and Summer Rae: This is the most innocuous match on the card despite the presence of eight women. Expect the heel group of Paige, Cameron, Layla and Summer Rae to win after a short match which will be hardly bigger than a toilet break.

3) Los Matadores v/s Gold and Stardust v/s The Usos v/s Miz and Mizdow (Tag Team Title match): This will be a fun match where every team except the Los Matadores has a chance to win the gold. However, we can eliminate the Usos as they have just finished a lengthy title reign. Gold and Stardust will probably retain the titles, setting up a possible feud with Miz and Mizdow. The only issue with this is that both teams are heels.

If I were to make a brave call, I'd say Mizdow would turn on the Miz to cost his team the titles. This week on RAW, there was some dissension between Miz and Mizdow when the former tagged himself in after the latter had barely got himself into the match. Mizdow has become very popular with the WWE fans and a face run against the Miz while continuing as his stunt double would be fun. But would that be too much to expect from this era's WWE?

4) AJ Lee v/s Nikki Bella (Divas Championship): There are two interesting things about this match. One is that AJ Lee might be leaving WWE, according to rumours that abound. Which means she would have to drop the title to Nikki Bella. On the other hand, Brie Bella, Nikki's sister, is not on the match card for Survivor Series. Some kind of interference from Brie could thus be expected. I'll dump the rumour and call for an AJ Lee win courtesy interference from Brie Bella.

5) Team Authority (Seth Rollins, Kane, Mark Henry, Rusev and Luke Harper) v/s Team Cena (John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Erick Rowan and Ryback): It's incredible these days if two out of five matches on a WWE PPV card are hard to predict. Those who think however that The Authority would win are kidding themselves. Remember that if this happens, every member of Team Cena will be 'fired'. WWE, given its list of injured stars, cannot afford to lose Ziggler, Show, Rowan and Ryback, and certainly not John Cena, even for a week. On the other hand, Triple H and Stephanie could easily be taken off screen for a while to make the show more unpredictable.

Given the sword dangling over their heads, expect one member of Team Cena to turn heel. Fans may be liking Ryback once more, but I am inclined to think he will finally join the Authority. After all, WWE has teased this in the past few weeks and focused on Ryback's indecisiveness. Even this week on RAW, Ryback never attacked Triple H - he just stared at him as John Cena took advantage.

But even if Ryback turns heel, Randy Orton could make a 'surprise' return as a face and cost Team Authority the match. Orton is out shooting for a movie, but rumour has it that he is booked to take on Seth Rollins in the main event at WWE's next PPV, TLC. Therefore, an Orton interference leading to a Team Cena win looks likely. Also, the Authority are starting to look stale and a temporary change of guard looks likely. Therefore, I will go with Team Cena over Team Authority.
