1) 408 is South Africa's highest score in a World Cup game, and also their second highest overall.

2) It is also the second highest score in a World Cup game ever, behind India's  413/5 against Bermuda in 2007.

3) AB de Villiers 162 not out is his personal best score in ODIs. It is also the fastest 150 in an ODI by any batsman. 

4) AB de Villiers now holds the record for the fastest 50, 100 and 150 in ODIs.

6) South Africa's win by 257 runs is their third biggest ever in ODIs, and joint biggest ever for any team in a World Cup, alongside India's 257-run win over Bermuda in 2007.

7) West Indies captain Jason Holder's figures of 0/104 from 10 overs are the worst bowling figures in ODI history. They are also the second worst ODI figures of all times, behind those of Mick Lewis of Australia, who conceded 113 off his 10 overs against South Africa in Johannesburg in 2006. Mark Snedden of New Zealand conceded 105 runs against England in 1983, but he bowled 12 overs.

8) De Villiers and Farhaan Behardien scored at a run rate of 24, clobbering 80 runs off 20 balls. This is the fastest run rate for any 50-plus partnership in ODI history.

9) West Indies have now conceded 400 + in an ODI for the third time. This is a record. Sri Lanka and South Africa have conceded 400-plus twice each.
