As the chants of 'Bring Rafa Back' were loud and clear at the Australian Open, the Spanish tennis player is all set to make his return after almost 6 months.
Rafael Nadal known as the King of Clay returns back on his favourite surface as he begins his hunt for his 8th French Open title with a comeback that is one of the most anticipated in modern tennis.
After suffering a shock loss to Lukas Rosol in the 2012 Wimbledon second round Nadal had pulled out of all tournaments including the London Olympics and the US Open.
As he returns the French Open champion is back to a circuit that is vastly different to the one he left in June. Nadal returns as the World No.5 with Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray and David Ferrer above him in the rankings.
All four of them were finalists at the Australian Open and will know that if someone stands between them and the French Open then it's one Rafael Nadal--the undoubted best player on clay.
Will Nadal return to the top or will injury force him to inevitably retire at a young age like Bjorn Borg? The answer to this question only time will provide. But whatever the case Rafael Nadal has ensured that he will be remembered as a tennis great winning a record seven French Open titles as well as being the only man to win all four Grand Slams and the Olympic gold.
