Abhay Singh Chautala was on Wednesday unanimously elected president of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) while Lalit Bhanot became the new secretary general.

Disregarding the ban imposed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), a defiant IOA on Wednesday went ahead with its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections, claiming that it has not violated any IOC guidelines even as the government and the national sports body blamed each other for the fiasco.
