VISION In rainy conditions (pouring water, low light, less visibility and occasional fog) raincoat clad pedestrians, cattle, wrongly parked and stalled vehicles are extremely hard to spot and even harder to avoid. Before the beginning of every rainy season, replace old set of wipers, as a year’s tropical Indian atmospheric conditions make them brittle. Also change the wiper arm once in 2 years as old arms tends to loose their spring pressure and don’t help much in clearing the water. Keep a windshield spray bottle in your car along with cleaning tissues or handheld wiper to clean the windshield manually. Before starting your drive make sure to clean your windshield without fail. As particles of tar, grease, oil from whiplash or traffic spray tend to stick to windshield. Importantly remove your watch, bracelet and rings before you start cleaning the windshield or else they will leave scratches on the glass. Never drive beyond the limits of your visibility. Keep safe distance while following large motor vehicles bigger and trucks, especially after a shower, as their large tyres displace more wheel spray. During night time, rain drops and scratches on your windscreen amplify the lights of oncoming traffic, cause temporary loss of vi visibility and also create definite blind spots. Such conditions also leads to frustration and stress on driver. Use special windshield washer fluid in the wiper spray. Keep your air conditioning on, to avoid mist formation on all glasses and windshields. If your wipers are not working as per satisfaction and you are stuck in the rain, just rub tobacco on the windscreen Remove flying particles that may have got stuck on the wipers, not doing so may leave deep marks on the windscreen.
