Say hello to dna's Shadow Editorial Board

dna launches its 'Shadow Editorial Board: Season 2' on Saturday with eight students from various city colleges forming the team. The first such concept in the country, the SEB was launched last year. Meet the members of the team that will, for the next three months, be part of our newsroom.

Jeetendra Khilani (20)
College: RA Podar College (BCom)


He enjoys reading crime fiction and listening to music. Apart from studying Chartered Accountancy, he is interested in writing — he has a blog, writes for his college as well as office magazine. Public speaking and debating are among his hobbies

Unnati Ghia (16) 
College: St Xavier’s College (FYJC)


Her interests include keeping herself up to date with current affairs, taking part in debates and discussions, attending Model United Nations (MUN) conferences, writing argumentative essays, reading (books of almost any genre), as well as the performing arts such as dancing and singing. She also  teaches at the Colaba Municipal School during her holidays

Krishna Bahirwani (20)
College: RD National College (BSc)


A strong believer of being the change you want to see in the world, at the age of 18, Krishna became India’s youngest-appointed Human Rights Vice-President for the neighbourhood of Colaba. He has participated in and helped organise workshops on a wide variety of topics.

Krishna also holds three practitioner-level diplomas in Krav Maga, an Israeli form of martial arts

Vasudha Ramakrishnan (18)College: Ruia College (BA)


She is currently enjoying her rediscovered love for Bharatanatyam. She torments her friends with long tirades on economics and politics (mostly borrowed). When she is not reading or listening to podcasts, she spends her free time analysing people around her and jotting down her observations

Devyani Sharma (20)
College: Jai Hind College (BA)


She is an organised, confident individual who believes in strong planning, team work and has the ability to adapt to new situations with ease. Devyani has won several writing, elocution and other competitions. She was also awarded credit for the internal assessment of Indian schools (English) by the University of New South Wales
 
Lakshmi Pillai (20)
College: SIES (BA)


Lakshmi has participated and won in debate, elocution, drawing and creative writing competitions at the school and junior college level. She has held leadership positions in the students’ council and been appointed editor and secretary for various literary activities at the senior college level. She has also presented a research on ‘The Prism of Precepts in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice — a Marxist Feminist Reading’

Kevin Rodricks (20)
College: St Andrew’s College (BA)


His interests include playing tennis and acting, in addition to reading, writing and listening to music

Snehal Khandekar (17)
College: St Xavier’s College (BMM)


Pursuing journalism has been her childhood dream, and using it to bring about change is her ambition. With her passion for the written word and her conviction, she has miles to go in life.
