1.    KTM 390 Duke

Lightweight, agile, minimalist, upright riding posture, wide handlebars, peppy engine and a throaty exhaust note – that’s the recipe of a really fun motorcycle to ride around in India on and the KTM 390 Duke fulfils ticks one of those check boxes without hesitation. Of course, the deal gets sealed the moment you consider the extremely competitive price! KTM seems to have cracked the India code first with the 200 Duke and now with this!

2.    Hero MotoCorp Impulse

It may have just a 150cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine but when it comes to Indian road (and off-road) conditions there’s no other bike that will make you happier than Hero MotoCorp’s Impulse. It’s good in the city, on trails and decent on the highway as well. What’s more? That comfy riding posture, massive ground clearance and more-or-less go-anywhere capability comes at a very affordable price tag!

3.    Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500

The first time you ride the new Thunderbird 500, it actually turns out to be a journey of revelation at how good this motorcycle is! Massive road presence, a brilliant engine, comfortable ergonomics and modern gadgetry mixed up with typical Royal Enfield flair make it a great tourer on our highways. The projector lamp with a halo running light is a neat touch as well giving the T-Bird major class.

4.    Kawasaki Ninja 300

Sharp. If you’d want to describe the Kawasaki Ninja 300 in one word, that would be it. We’re not just talking about those creased edges all over the bike’s bodywork, but also about engine response and the baby Ninja’s handling capabilities. The real fun though is when you really wring that right wrist hard – if you have the courage to, that is, because the real proof of this pudding is in revving it high!

5.    Harley-Davidson Street 750

Purists are still locked in debate over whether the Street 750 is a true-blue Harley or not, considering it doesn’t feel much like its bigger brothers. This one’s the rebel that decided to choose a new path and all we’d like to say is that it is awesome fun to ride! Then there’s that enticing price tag which pretty much puts it bang in the middle of an achievable budget for most aspiring buyers too!
