Shows that netas don’t care for people
This is a brazen show on behalf of Mayawati’s party to declare that they will continue to grace her with garlands made of money. Don’t they realise that there are a number of issues that need to be addressed in their state? Politicians in our country always
have their way and don’t bother much about the development of their state or country.

Such brazen display is worrisome
This incident is not unusual, but the amount of cash spent on making the garland twice is worrisome. Basic issues like unemployment and infrastructure, which are a major concern in UP are being ignored due to lack of funds. After this incident the opposition will definitely exercise their vocal chords and make an issue of this. The incident seems like a publicity stunt.

At least garland was offered in public
The garlanding business where Mayawati was engulfed in a garland of currency notes in an ostentatious and vulgar show of wealth. She has been rightly given the sobriquet of Bahu of Daulat. However, what should be lauded is that this display of wealth is transparent since there has been no clandestine and under-the-table dealing. The garland has been offered in full public glare, so I don’t see anything wrong.

Earlier it was statues, now it’s garlands
This isn’t the first time that Mayawati has been embroiled in such a controversy, so basically it doesn’t surprise me. Earlier she was obsessed with statues and now she has taken a fancy for garlands made of currency notes. Why has the government failed to take action against the display of wealth? Politicians are not above the Constitution and strict action must be taken.

Poor country lead by rich politicians
Mayawati is a living example of a leader, who is self-centred. Such ministers are moving around with impunity in the country and Indian laws can’t even touch them. We are a poor country lead by richest politicians. Mayawati’s show is proof that the revenue usurped from the taxpayer goes into the politician’s pocket. Development hasn’t reached the villages in UP.
