Should perpetrators of acid attacks be punished with life sentence?

Most don’t approve of govt’s refusal to make acid attack punishable with a life term.

Should perpetrators of acid attacks be punished with life sentence?

They shouldn’t walk free within 10 years
Offenders get a maximum prison term of upto 10 years, even though there are provisions under section 326 of IPC to give the offender a life sentence. There should be more stringent laws in place, because the victim’s entire life gets destroyed, while the violators walk free within 7-10 years. This heinous crime will not end, until harsh punishment is meted out to offenders.

Tough laws will deter offenders
I strongly disagree with the government’s stance on acid attacks. The law should be amended to a life term for such merciless crime. Such criminals should not be set free even after they have completed a few years in prison. The law should be amended, at the earliest, which then will certainly help in reducing such dreadful crime in society.

Such misdeeds are becoming common
Every second day, we read about acid attacks. It is time that the criminal act is treated like a serious offence. The victim is scarred for life, isn’t that monstrous enough to merit life imprisonment? People get away with such offences since they are not taken seriously. We need to make amendments in the IPC, so that women don’t suffer because of loopholes. Acid attacks are a monstrous misdeed and deserve severe punishment.

Scars victim mentally in perpetuity
I disagree with the government’s stand on this issue. Acid attacks are one of the most hideous criminal offences. Any person committing the same must be behind bars for a lifetime. The offence they commit scars the victim physically and mentally for a many years. No person has the right to spoil the life of another person and then go scot-free with minimal punishment.

Such miscreants have no value for life
I strongly feel the people who perpetrate acid attacks should be given a life sentence. They shouldn’t be spared or allowed to go free after a few years. This is the best way is to nip serious misdemeanors in the bud. Miscreants who cause harm to the society can be never have value for the life of others. So why should they be allowed to get away with crime easily?
