Somewhere deep down, we all desire to have a business or a private concern of our own. All the more, after the release of the movie 3 Idiots, people are open to new avenues rather than restricting themselves to well-cushioned positions.
The E-Summit, the annual flagship event of IIT-B’s entrepreneurship cell, is a student organisation which aims to foster and sustain entrepreneurship among students and youth.
The E-Summit serves as a platform for aspiring, budding and successful entrepreneurs to interact and help build successful enterprises. It creates a networking hub for people from various domains since the participants of E-Summit involve corporate groups, working professionals and students from all across the nation. “The idea of such events started in 1998, when a group of IITians decided to change the notion that we are trained to work only as employees in other firms,” said Manoj Tirukot, media manager of IIT-B’s Entrepreneurship Cell.
E-Summit 2010 will focus on exploring business plans. It will bring in some of the most enriching and enlightening panel discussions, workshops and interactive sessions with successful and distinguished entrepreneurs. For start-up firms and entrepreneurs there will be parallel events like mentoring sessions.
The summit will also host the finals for Eureka! 2009 — Asia’s largest Business Plan competition. “I attended the summit last year and look forward to attending the event this year as well,” said Prateek Sharma currently working with a company which organises international trade fairs.
He added, “Since I’m looking forward to starting my business. I will attend the IIT summit to get tips and motivation strategies for a start-up firm from various young and successful entrepreneurs, who will address the meet.”
