Need more auto stands in the city
It looks like a good initiative as it will be very cost-effective. If one considers the time we start daily to wait for an auto or a taxi, we’ll realise that the time spent travelling by train is sometimes less than the time spent on trying to get a ride home from the station. The service should make it a smoother ride for commuters and should be implemented without drivers abusing it by charging extra. We need more auto and taxi stands in the city. Action should be taken against drivers who refuse to ply short distances.

It will definitely help in many ways
The move will help commuters in many ways. Outside any railway station people are in a mad rush to reach their destinations. A shared auto option will get in more cohesiveness among people. They won’t be jostling with others to get into an auto. A queue for a shared auto will also help people reach their destinations faster, rather than getting delayed, hunting for an auto for hours. Also, many posh areas like Hiranandani are quite far from the station. The shared autos will also help save money.

Won’t compromise on my privacy
I won’t be comfortable sharing an auto with strangers and prefer to wait. I cannot understand why the authorities cannot increase the number of autos and taxis in the city. The population is increasing and there is an increase in income inflow as well. Therefore, many prefer not to compromise their privacy and luxury. I want my privacy and don’t mind waiting. I waste 30 minutes in the morning and evening waiting for a auto rikshaw to take me home. Also, there is always a long queue for shared autos.

It will help only rail commuters
This is a good initiative to have a shared auto option to travel to places from the station. In fact, at many places, people at Ghatkopar and even Vile Parle, to reach their destination, find it difficult to get an auto or cab these days. When going to any other place, the problem of getting autos continues.
Also, what about while returning from your workplace and going back home?

We need many such initiatives to deal with errant auto drivers. Everyday, from my office to the station, I spend half an hour to get an auto. From my experience, the attitude of auto drivers has not changed.

I prefer to walk, than wait for auto
With the increase in auto and taxi fares, it has become very difficult for a daily commuter.
This is a great initiate by the RTO and we need more share-an-auto-rickshaw services across the city.

During rush hours, it is very difficult to find an auto or a taxi to ply to the railway stations.
There are times when I prefer to walk rather than waste time waiting for one.
The authorities must also look into the fact that there are no proper taxi-stands in the city.

Bus frequency is quite bad
No one can escape commuting in Mumbai without public transport. It’s important that people reach their destinations on time. The frequency of buses is not as good or punctual as the trains, which is every three minutes.

During peak hours, there are fewer auto-rickshaws as one passenger occupies one auto. If there are more share-an-auto-rickshaw or share-a-taxi facilities, it will definitely benefit commuters. I want a share-a-taxi service from Mazgaon to Worli.
