In response to Let’s Talk: Celebrities chickened out
It is time to revive satyagraha. Every witness, who let Jessica Lal down in the court, should be boycotted socially and professionally. Advertising firms, film directors should insist on this. The social butterfly on whose premises the murder was committed should also be boycotted by her friends and colleagues. Their action was as despicable as that of the murderer. They should be made to live with the shame for their action in court for the rest of their lives.

In response to Ordinary Extraordinary: This honest auto guy returned my purse
Honesty comes as surprise
Honest cabbies, honest co-passengers are rare but the breed does exist; and they come across as a pleasant surprise.
I had lost my mobile in an auto sometime back. When I dialled my cell number, a young lad named Mihir took the call, having found it in the same auto. He assured me that he would return it the next day since he was going to a party at that time. He called me the next day and travelled all the way from Andheri to Borivli to meet me.
Handing the phone over, he disclosed having made two calls from my cell as his was not available at the time.
When I thanked him for his honesty, he just dismissed it saying that he knows what it is to lose a mobile since he has lost four and not one was returned to him. Such incidents speak volumes about the honesty of some in the city too busy to bother about others.
