Is West Indies ready to dominate world cricket again?

Team effort enabled West Indies to lift the trophy. The win must have made them realise their mistakes and they certainly will overcome them in the coming years to emerge as a cricketing force to reckon with.

The shortest version of the game suits West Indies as they have hard-hitting batsmen. They have enough all-rounders too. The win will help them improve their cricket in the coming years, but this won’t be possible overnight.
Mukund Parmar, Gujarat’s former Ranji captain

This West Indies unit is completely different from its immediate predecessors. They are a lot more confident than the country’s previous teams. Presence of Gayle, Pollard and Samuels made the difference, as did their self belief.
