A group of Cuffe Parade residents bid farewell to Lord Ganesha by distributing over 10,000 vada pavs, kachoris and ladoos on the last day of the immersion on Tuesday. The distribution which was an effort iniated by the Cuffe Parade Residents Association (CPRA) garden was to mainly ensure that residents celebrate the festival together.

"We prepared around 7,500 vada pavs, 5,000 ladoos and 1,500 kachoris for the devotees. It is a day of revelry, and devotees reach the shore at 10 pm, and are usually hungry by then. Everyone can give money. But doing physical work is what gives a spiritual high and that is what people did," said Krishnakumar Nemani who has been distributing the food items for the last 10 years or so.
