‘Saturn rings still puzzle in many ways’

'There are puzzles about composition of the rings, their internal structures, origin and their dynamics which are yet to be explored,' said Professor Wing Huen Ip of Taiwan about Saturn’s unique rings on Monday.

“There are puzzles about composition of the rings, their internal structures, origin and their dynamics which are yet to be explored,” said Professor Wing Huen Ip of Taiwan about Saturn’s unique rings on Monday. He was delivering a lecture on ‘The Mysteries of the Saturnian Rings’ during day one of the two-day international symposium – ‘Atmospheres of Terrestrial Planets: Observations and Modeling’ at PRL. 

Ip is also part of NASA’s Cassini Solstice Mission. He is one of the international co-investigators. The mission was launched to explore Saturn and after two extended missions, it is still making new discoveries.
