One in four Britons are not working after the worst recession on record. Shock figures showed 8.16 million have stayed in education, signed off sick or given up any hope of finding a job.
The number of "economically inactive" Brits has soared by 1,49,000 in just three months, The Sun reports. This comes on top of the 2.45 million who are officially unemployed.
Experts said the stunning figure showed the grim toll of the worst slump in living memory.
